Our Methodology
Every retreat listed on World's Yoga Retreats is assessed against these five standards — developed over years of personal practice and retreat attendance. If a retreat fails even one, it doesn't appear. Regardless of how popular, beautiful, or well-marketed it is.
Read the full methodologyLead teachers must hold a minimum 500-hour certification from a recognised lineage, with at least 3 years of active teaching experience.
We assess accommodation safety, group dynamics, teacher communication style, and cultural context for solo female travellers.
The listed price includes accommodation, all meals, and all yoga sessions. Hidden costs discovered on arrival are a disqualification.
We require evidence of at least 20 genuine attendee reviews, or a personal assessment visit by a member of our editorial team.
Marketing aesthetics don't earn a listing. We look for real daily schedules, teacher lineage, and evidence of serious sustained practice.

Not all retreats are created equal. Different destinations suit different women at different moments in their practice.

We don't just curate other people's retreats — we run our own. Our house retreat in Rishikesh is built on the same five criteria we use to vet every listing on this site. Which means nothing is hidden, nothing is aesthetic-only, and every decision is made by practitioners, for practitioners.
Seven days. Small group. Women only. Hatha, Yin, and Yoga Nidra with our certified teachers in the place where yoga began.

"The difference between a good retreat and a transformative one is in the details most directories never mention."
World's Yoga Retreats — The standard for women
We list 20–60 retreats globally. Every single one is hand-vetted against five non-negotiable criteria. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't appear.
Every retreat is assessed specifically for how well it serves women — from group dynamics and teacher framing to safety and cultural context.
We publish exactly what's included, what's excluded, and what you should budget additionally. No surprises on arrival.
We don't just curate — we run. Our house retreat in Rishikesh is where we practice what we publish.
Women Who've Practised With Us
"I've done retreats across four continents. World's Yoga Retreats is the only directory that genuinely understands what women need — not just aesthetics, but substance, safety, and real teaching lineage."

"The Kerala recommendation was precisely what I needed after a difficult year. The level of detail — what's actually included, the teacher's lineage, what to budget — meant no surprises on arrival."

Toronto · Kerala, 10 days
"Most yoga travel sites feel like they're selling me a holiday. This felt like advice from someone who actually practises. I'll never book a retreat any other way."
