Why we list it
Canggu Ashtanga Shala has established a consistent record across multiple programme cohorts. Bali’s yoga culture evolved from a spiritual pilgrimage destination into the world’s most established retreat ecosystem. Ubud — the cultural heart — hosts a year-round community of serious teachers working at a level competitive with anywhere globally.
The operator’s teaching credentials are real: Ashtanga. The lineage — undefined — is documented and traceable, not invented for marketing purposes.
The practice
The Mysore-format practice gives each student individual attention within their own sequence. A led class mid-week grounds the group. Teaching follows the traditional method: posture, breath, gaze.
Sessions run twice daily. The morning practice opens the body and builds heat; the evening session completes the arc. The sequence across the week is deliberate — not the same class repeated seven times.
Setting and logistics
Maximum 10 guests per programme, which is small enough to guarantee individual teacher attention and large enough to support genuine group dynamics.
Who it suits
Practitioners who want to practice seriously in a setting that earns its environment. The combination of destination, teaching lineage, and group size creates conditions that a local studio class cannot replicate.
Pricing note
Pricing includes accommodation and all meals for the full programme duration. Transfer costs from the nearest international airport are not included — budget accordingly.
