Why we list it

Somatheeram Ayurveda Resort has established a consistent record across multiple programme cohorts. Kerala’s Ayurveda is not hotel-spa Ayurveda. The tradition here runs to families who have practised and transmitted the system for generations — vaidyas whose grandfather’s grandfather diagnosed by pulse. The clinical protocols are fundamentally different from anything available in the West.

The operator’s teaching credentials are real: Classical Ayurveda Kerala. The lineage — undefined — is documented and traceable, not invented for marketing purposes.

The practice

Ayurvedic treatments are prescribed individually following a pulse-diagnosis consultation on arrival. Daily therapy sessions, a prescribed diet, and herbal medicine work together as an integrated protocol rather than a menu of spa options.

Sessions run twice daily. The morning practice opens the body and builds heat; the evening session completes the arc. The sequence across the week is deliberate — not the same class repeated seven times.

Setting and logistics

Maximum 20 guests per programme, which is small enough to guarantee individual teacher attention and large enough to support genuine group dynamics.

Practitioners who want to practice seriously in a setting that earns its environment. The combination of destination, teaching lineage, and group size creates conditions that a local studio class cannot replicate.

Pricing note

Pricing includes accommodation and all meals for the full programme duration. Transfer costs from the nearest international airport are not included — budget accordingly.
