Why we list it

Poovar Island Yoga has established a consistent record across multiple programme cohorts. Varkala and Kovalam offer a different Kerala from the backwater resorts: cliff-top yoga culture, direct beach access, and a long-established international teacher community that arrived before the wellness industry noticed the state.

The operator’s teaching credentials are real: Ayurveda / Restorative. The lineage — undefined — is documented and traceable, not invented for marketing purposes.

The practice

Ayurvedic treatments are prescribed individually following a pulse-diagnosis consultation on arrival. Daily therapy sessions, a prescribed diet, and herbal medicine work together as an integrated protocol rather than a menu of spa options.

Sessions run twice daily. The morning practice opens the body and builds heat; the evening session completes the arc. The sequence across the week is deliberate — not the same class repeated seven times.

Setting and logistics

Maximum 8 guests per programme, which is small enough to guarantee individual teacher attention and large enough to support genuine group dynamics.

Pricing note

Pricing includes accommodation and all meals for the full programme duration. Transfer costs from the nearest international airport are not included — budget accordingly.
